Falkenberg wedding | Fall in love with weddings

This beautiful Falkenberg wedding was in fact an autumn wedding workshop by Rebecka Wendesten held at Dalagård Falkenberg just an hour from Gothenburg. It was the perfect way to end the wedding season and welcome the cooler weather here on Sweden’s west coast.

After a welcome drink and breakfast boxes, a course on floral arrangement was held by Petit Florist and Nordic Spells Decor. They also collaborated on the florals, table settings and other incredible details during the workshop. Though I’d never have assumed floristry to be easy, the course was at once a lesson in arrangement and proof that a good florist is worth investing in on your big day. Not only is the crafting of bouquets difficult, it is also time consuming, finicky, and requires a kind of patience I do not possess.

The couple

Elin and Kim couldn’t have been a better bridal couple. With two kids and engaged to be married “in real life”, the emotion was genuine and impossible to miss.

The details

Kim’s hat, by Hat Your Path in Gothenburg, was the perfect stylistic accompaniment, with character rivalling his own. You don’t always see details in the groom’s outfit worthy of special focus in photographs, but this was an exception.

As with her previous workshop, Rebecka provided a veritable smorgasbord of visual treats with which we created a myriad of stunning flatlays and detail shots. Leather details by Rebecca Lazorn and paper goods by Emma Alveus featured heavily in these.

First look

A strong highlight of the workshop was a focus on a “first look” moment, which is a popular item on the wedding photography list these days.

Most couples don’t tend to repeat their first look at the whim of a gaggle of photographers. Kim and Elin made their eighth look just as special and convincing as their first. A sign of the genuine love and wonder they hold for each other.

Engaged on the west coast?

It was a Falkenberg wedding to remember, and I’d be thrilled to photograph more of them. Are you considering tying the knot on the Swedish west coast? Get in touch! And check out Rebecka’s first workshop here.
