A heartfelt ceremony

Some weddings are full of anticipation from the first seconds of the day. This can be achieved a number of ways, but the bride arriving a little bit late to the church is always a winner. I try to do a little couples photography session before wedding days – included in the package of course – which helps in situations like these. I’d already met the couple and their children, which made helped avoid potential awkwardness as we waited for the bride to turn up. The buses had already delivered the guests to the quaint little church, and Frida and Eric spent a moment together getting the last details ready and being fussed over by their extensive bridal party – mostly family. The ceremony itself was deeply personal and filled with family involvement. Eric’s mother read a Bible passage, while Frida’s brother contributed with both guitar and song, adding a musical layer that made the moment intimate and beautiful.

Celebration at Åminne Bruk

Later in the afternoon, guests travelled to Åminne Bruk for the rest of the evening. The transition from church to reception brought a shift in energy from emotional ceremony to relaxed joy and celebration.

The evening was shaped by speeches, musical performances, polaroid photos, collaborative painting, and delicious food and cake.

Throughout the day, there was a clear emphasis on presence over performance. The couple prioritised candid storytelling: laughter between guests, children moving freely through the crowd, and emotional reactions during key moments.
